Neo-Classic Space

We grew-up on Classic Space Legoland LEGOs. And I’m on a quest to find where they all went! Dad’s house? Not much left, although I should check the attic… Right now I have a surplus of Pirate and StarWars LEGOs. Turns-out BrickLinks.com is like eBay for LEGOs.

But the whole reason for this post is this flickr photostream: Neo-Classic Space LEGOs! Bad ass. Invoking the textures of StarWars LEGOs building techniques to redo some of the great sets of the late 80’s and early 90’s. This is well before the Futron, old Blacktron, old Space Police, New Blacktron, New Space Police, M-tron, and whatever else they have now. Good ol’ classic blue and gray bricks! I’d love to see what these guys can do with the old themes… a lot of white bricks, a hint of black and some translucent blue shields!

For your daily fix, the Brothers-Brick.com are fabulous.

Diffenbachia Bloom

Some of these species only bloom ever six or seven years. For whatever reason, I’ve had this guy since my mother moved to Connecticut. He’s grown big and bushy, and fallen over and been cut back, and repotted, and finally grew up nice and straight and tall. Then, the day Amy comes back, he blooms:
